PROJECT “SHELTER”
The charitable organization “Brotherhood of Orphans of Ukraine” is searching for a location and planning to open a community center and shelter for working with troubled youth who have faced difficult life circumstances. In the shelter, adolescents and young people will temporarily reside while also participating in various psychological and educational training programs.
To sustain the facility, we will establish a social enterprise (cafe and hostel) which, within one year from the opening day, aims to become self-sustaining and, along with the support of donors, fully maintain the operations of the shelter and community center.
This way, yesterday’s offenders, drug and alcohol-dependent homeless adolescents can rebuild their lives. Gradually, with the assistance of government service professionals, they will transition to other permanent jobs and move into their own residences.
